To all of you„easy-frame“ The bike paint protection film sets we sell come with a clear description of how to apply them. The instructions are written in words and pictures and imply the gluing of the individual segments.
Why Wet bonding The film adheres more easily, slides well, is easier to reposition, adheres better, and ultimately results in a homogeneous appearance. Additionally, the risk of air inclusions and bubbles is minimized.
External conditions Apply the film in a closed room. Avoid unnecessary dirt such as hair or dust. The processing temperature should be between 15°C and 25°C. It should be avoided to apply the film in direct sunlight or in windy or wet weather conditions.
Preparation of the surface to be coated Cleaning the surface to be coated should preferably be carried out using isopropanol or another solvent-based cleaner, and it should also be done with a lint-free cloth. Only in this way can it be guaranteed that the surface is free of grease, oil, wax and silicone. Furthermore, the surface must not be treated with a polishing agent beforehand. In addition, we have experienced removing the few original protective films from the manufacturers. Adhering the original protective films doesn’t look nice and it’s more difficult to remove the moisture between the films (especially at the edges).
You Your hands should be thoroughly cleaned. Avoid wearing a sweater. Sticking hair could be attracted to the static charge of the foil. To achieve a clean result, it is important to ensure that the adhesive side of the foil is not touched as much as possible. This will otherwise create unsightly fingerprints that could be visible later.

Mixed Water – Liquid: 500ml – 2 drops* (do not use any additional agents, such as commercial household detergent (Palmolive, etc.). Removable substances cannot evaporate and lead to insufficient adhesive strength; baby shampoo is possible)
Sprinkle the adhesive surface generously with the mixture
Remove a single segment of carrier paper and also spray it with the mixture (on both sides) / pull through the shell filled with the mixture
The fingers you use to peel off the segment may also have some trace of mixture (prevents fingerprints).
Position, align, fix and attach the segment to the surface
scrape the liquid off with a spatula from top to bottom – from the inside out (avoiding any mixture inclusions)
absorb the exiting liquid with a cloth
if present: use a hair dryer/hot air gun to run along the edges to displace any remaining moisture
the object to be attached should not be used for 48 – 72 hours; thermal and mechanical stress should be avoided
*Tip If the film adheres too quickly, it is advisable to use more liquid. However, if the film slides off too quickly and cannot be applied, then less liquid should be used.
Disassembly of the foil The film should be carefully and evenly heated using a hot air gun or a hair dryer (max. 60°C). This „activates“ the adhesive and the film can be removed very easily. The entire process should be carried out carefully to protect the surface paint and avoid any damage.
Disclaimer If the film is damaged while riding, then this is a completely normal occurrence. The durability is limited. Should the film tear off from the bike during cycling due to, for example, rubbing with shoes at the corners or edges, this is also a possible occurrence.
